Cheesy History
Los Cheesies was founded by two best friends; one a gringo by the name of Don Chon (Shawn Camden), and the other a Mexican by the name of Carmelo Lopez. These two gentleman shared a vision, combine American and Latin American music styles and cultures to make fun and entertaining dance music. Los Cheesies music style is a compilation of dance rock mixed in with Latin American rhythms including cumbia, durangenze, rap and reggaeton. We also play lots of American music including 60s and 80s dance rock and disco music We attract a diverse crowd of Americans and Latinos to our shows.

Don ChonShawn grew up performing a combination of American and Mexican Music styles. He spent part of his life in Monterey, Mexico where he was a Mariachi singer and a comedic actor. He grew up singing and acting in various theatre companies in California and Colorado. He was the lead singer for a popular rock band in Argentina called Los Zorros, which still exist to this day. He is the co-founder and owner of LACI (Latin American Cultural Immersion) www.lacisite.com. LACI offers Spanish classes in Boulder and Denver, travel packages and Spanish study abroad. He is also co-founder of Intercambio de Comunidades www.intercambioweb.org |

Carmelo Lopez: Lead Vocals and BaseCarmelo is originally from a village in Mexico called Rancho Grande, Zacatecas. He has ten brothers and sisters, all whom are singers and musicians. His brothers and sisters taught him how to sing and play various instruments including piano, bass, and percussion. Carmelo came to the United States when he was 17 years old. Within a year he started up his own cumbia band called Los Chicos del Ritmo. Chicks dig Carmelo. |

Jesus: Drums:Jesus is originally from Rancho Grande, Mexico. He played drums in a well known band calles Los Chulos, a Duranguense band. He is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. |
Ozzie: Lead Guitar:Ozzie is form the Lakota Indian Tribe in North Dakota. He has been playing in bands since he was 13 |
